Peekwood

Nesting keychains · Launching spring 2027

Take a peek inside.

Little turned-wood keychains in the matryoshka tradition. Slide the outer doll up its chain and find the character the story was keeping secret.

How it works

1 · Pick a story

A fairy tale or one of nature's own surprises, printed on a small turned-wood doll.

2 · Lift it

Slide the outer doll up the chain to reveal the second character hidden inside.

3 · Carry the secret

It hangs on a stainless keyring, so the story goes everywhere your keys do.

The first collection

Tap any doll, or Peek inside, to lift it and see who's hiding. Final designs and the launch line-up are still being chosen.

An emperor penguin parent with a fluffy silver chick tucked safely inside.

The Poison Apple

Apple → hides Snow White

From the Brothers Grimm: a perfect red apple, and Snow White hidden at its heart.

It started at a street market

Around 1997, at a street market in Hong Kong, my mother bought herself a tiny wooden nesting-doll keychain. Slide the doll up its chain, and a second doll was waiting inside. Nearly thirty years later it's still on a key ring, and it's where Peekwood began.

Peekwood takes that little surprise and gives it a story: the frog who is really a prince, the egg about to hatch, the apple with Snow White inside. Classic tales and nature's own reveals, each small enough to carry.

Questions, answered

When and where can I buy one?

The first Peekwood dolls launch in spring 2027, here on peekwood.com and on Amazon. Shops will be able to order through Faire. Join the list below to hear first.

How big is it?

The outer doll is 45 mm (about 1¾ in) tall and 22.5 mm wide. The hidden doll inside is about 22 mm (⅞ in) tall.

How does it work? Does the little doll come off?

Slide the outer doll up the chain to reveal the inner doll hanging underneath. The inner doll is attached to the chain, so it stays put. Slide the outer doll back down to hide it again.

What is it made of?

Turned hardwood, printed in flat colors and clear-coated. The keyring, chain and hardware are 304 stainless steel.

Is it a toy?

No. Peekwood keychains are collectibles for ages 14 and up.

Can I use it as a bag charm?

Each keychain comes on a stainless keyring. Bag-charm details will be posted before launch.

Do you sell to shops?

Yes. Shops can order wholesale through Faire from launch. For other wholesale questions, write to hello@peekwood.com.
